Description

The dual channel SmartElex 30D Smart Motor Driver (Powered by Raspberry Pi) can deliver up to 85 amps (2 seconds) of peak current per channel while operating continuously at 30 amps. It can be controlled via PWM, TTL serial, analogue, and radio control. a range of working modes, including as PWM, analogue, and mixed and independent modes for radio control.

Operating modes include the ability to switch between PWM mode and radio controls, as well as between any four modes via a 4-position DPDT mode switch. To prevent irritating whining sounds and ensure silent operation, MOSFETs are switched at 16 KHz.

In addition, a microcontroller unit is included to offer intelligent functions including temperature protection, different input modes, and current limit. The motor speed will cut in half if the board temperature hits 80 degrees, and it will return to regular speed once it drops below 70 degrees. At 100 degrees, the Smart Motor Driver will turn off.
