Description

This is the PCF8591 IC prototype/breakout board. With four analogue inputs, one analogue output, and a serial I²C  bus interface, the PCF8591 Module Analogue to Digital / Digital-Analog Converter Module with F-F Jumper Wire is a low-power, single-chip, single-supply, 8-bit CMOS data acquisition device. By programming the hardware address using three address pins (A0, A1, and A2), up to eight devices linked to the  I²C bus can be used without the need for extra hardware. I²C -bus transfers address, control, and data serially to and from the device in a bidirectional two-line fashion.

The device can do analogue input multiplexing, on-chip track and hold, digital-to-analog conversion from 8 bits to digital, and vice versa. The I²C-bus’s maximum speed indicates the maximum conversion rate.
