MCP4725, an I2C controlled digital-to-analog converter (DAC), is included in the CJMCU MCP4725 I2C DAC Breakout Development Board Module. You can transfer an analogue signal, such a sine wave, from a digital source, like the Arduino microcontroller’s I2C interface, using a relatively affordable DAC option. Digital to analogue converters are excellent for many creative applications, such as creating music and creating sounds!
The I2C pinout, the IC footprint, the overall board size to better suit your projects, and a few other small adjustments were made to the MCP4725 Breakout in this version to address a few issues with the board. This board deconstructs the MCP4725 and exposes all of its pins, including the GND and Signal OUT pins for attaching an oscilloscope or any other device that has to be connected to the board.
The module also includes an additional GND, VCC, SDA, and SCL onboard for your standard I2C pinout. You can disable the pull-up resistors on this board by following the directions and advice in the Hookup Guide found in the Documents section below.
For more information, see the MCP4725 datasheet and schematic in the attached file.
