Description

As you may know, the Raspberry Pi Pico is a unique development board built around the RP2040, a microcontroller developed by Raspberry Pi and launched in January 2021. Compact, affordable, and versatile, it’s an excellent tool for learning to code using MicroPython. The RP2040 is based on the ARM Cortex-M0+ architecture and was fully developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

Now, the Pico has been upgraded with the addition of a 2.4GHz wireless interface while retaining the same form factor as the original. This new variant, named the Raspberry Pi Pico WH, includes several enhanced features.

At the core of each device is the RP2040, a Raspberry Pi-designed chip featuring dual ARM Cortex-M0+ cores running at 133MHz, 256KB of RAM, 30 GPIO pins, and extensive interfacing options. It also comes with 2MB of onboard QSPI Flash memory for code and data storage. The Raspberry Pi Pico W and Pico WH integrate the Infineon CYW43439 wireless chip, which supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth 5.2. However, only wireless LAN is supported at launch.
