Description

The Teensy is a feature-rich development board that fits into a tiny package and is suitable for use with a breadboard. Every Teensy 3.6 is pre-flashed with a bootloader, eliminating the need for an external programmer since you can program it via the onboard USB connection. You can either install the Teensyduino add-on for the Arduino IDE and build Arduino sketches for the Teensy, or you can program for it using C in your preferred program editor.

The Teensy is an excellent choice for USB-MIDI and other HID projects since its CPU can imitate any type of USB device that you require. It also has access to the USB. A few more capabilities that the 32-bit, 180MHz processor offers are numerous channels of Direct Memory Access, several high-resolution ADCs, and even an I2S digital audio interface. In addition, there is a delay timer and four independent interval timers. Every digital pin is 3.3V tolerant and capable of interrupting.

With all solder points on a 0.1′′ grid, all of this functionality is crammed onto a 62.3mm by 18.0mm board, making it easy to assemble on a breadboard and get to work. Because of its integrated micro SD card connector, the Teensy 3.6 and its twin, the Teensy 3.5, are bigger, faster, and able to handle more complicated applications. The main new features of this “teensy” board include an updated ARM Cortex MCU (180MHz from 72MHz), more memory (1M from 256K), additional RAM, EEPROM, and accessible pins. Although the Teensy 3.6 is priced pricier than the Teensy 3.5, it is marginally more advanced.
