The Waveshare PL2303 USB UART Board (Type C) is a USB-C connector and a USB-to-UART (TTL) communication module.

The PL2303 USB UART converter board is this one. For embedded devices that need a serial connection to a computer, this small utility is fantastic. The board appears as a regular COM port and is easily attached to a USB-C bus.

 

Pin connections of PL2303 USB UART Board:

  1. VCCIO ↔ 3.3V or 5V output (the module is powered from USB, and the onboard jumper should be shorted to 3.3V or 5V)
  2. GND ↔ GND
  3. TXD ↔ MCU.RX (signal direction: MCU.RX << PL2303 << PC.TX)
  4. RXD ↔ MCU.TX (signal direction: MCU.TX >> PL2303 >> PC.RX)
