Description

Co-designed with Brian Schmalz, this A3967 Stepper Motor Driver for Arduino is the most recent iteration of Easy Driver v44. Compared to the previous iteration, it offers more flexibility and control over your stepper motor.

This stepper motor driver is easy to use and works with most microcontrollers that can generate a digital pulse of 0 to 5 volts (or 3.3 volts if SJ2 on the Easy Driver is soldered closed). The module needs a power supply that ranges from 7 V to 30 V to run a motor. The module features a 3.3V or 5V programmable integrated voltage regulator for the digital interface.

You may get precise motor control by connecting a microcontroller and a 4-wire stepper motor! Bi-polar and bi-polarly wired motors, such as four, six, or eight wire stepper motors, can be driven by Easy Driver. You may get precise motor control by connecting a microcontroller and a 4-wire stepper motor! Bi-polar and bi-polarly wired motors, such as four, six, or eight wire stepper motors, can be driven by EasyDriver. The A3967’s microstep select pins (MS1 and MS2) are broken out, enabling modifications to the micro-stepping resolution. For added control, the sleep and enable pins are also separated.

Note: While the driver is energised, do not connect or disconnect a motor. The A3967 IC will sustain irreversible damage as a result.

Features:

  • Variable current regulation with a range of 150 mA to 750 mA per phase.
  • Microstepping driver A3967.
  • To adjust the microstepping resolution to full, half, quarter, or eighth steps (the default being eighth), the MS1 and MS2 pins are broken out.
  • Suitable with stepper motors with four, six, or eight wires and any voltage.
