Description

All of the active features of a step-down (buck) switching regulator are provided by the LM2576HVS-5 (TO-263-5) Buck (Step Down) Switching Voltage Regulator Ic, which can drive a 3A load with superior line and load control. This regulator has a fixed output voltage of 12 volts and requires the fewest external components possible. It is easy to operate and comes with a fixed-frequency oscillator and internal frequency adjustment.
A high-efficiency substitute for the widely used three-terminal linear regulators is provided by the LM2576 series. It significantly minimises the heat sink’s dimensions, and in certain situations, a heat sink is not necessary. Numerous manufacturers offer a standard series of inductors that are optimised for use with the regulator. Switch-mode power supply design is significantly made easier by this capability.
