Description

This tiny on-screen display board for APM 2.6 and 2.8 is based on the Arduino microcontroller. It is made to be as compact as possible and is specifically suited for usage with the MAVlink protocol and ArduPilot Mega.
The ATmega328P 8-bit microprocessor with an Arduino bootloader and the MAX7456 monochrome on-screen display are its primary parts. A 6-pin cable that is FTDI compliant is used for programming.

Mini OSD is an On Screen Display (OSD) board that is compatible with APM 2.6 and 2.8. If you’re utilising a wireless video transmitter and onboard camera, it pulls all of the MAVLink data from the APM telemetry stream and superimposes it on the video stream. This is helpful if you want to view your telemetry data in the Mission Planner without using a laptop at the field or if you’re flying in First Person View (FPV) mode.

Features and Specifications:
Arduino bootloader-equipped ATmega328P with a monochrome on-screen display chip (MAX7456).
Pinout compatible with FTDI cables
ISP header, standard 6-pin (not populated)
Solder jumpers to combine the two independent power sections, each with an LED indicator.
For the PAL video option, solder jumper
Test points for LOS and HSYNC exposed
To isolate the analogue stage of the OSD, there are two separate power and ground sections:
A +5V component that is powered by the FTDI cable or other +5V sources and houses the ATmega and the OSD’s digital stage
a controlled +5V portion that can handle up to +12V of input and is powered by the video in/out header of the OSD.

If needed, solder jumpers can be used to join the two power and ground regions.
Accepts APM2.6, APM2.5, and APM2.
