RPLiDAR A1M8 360 Degree Laser Range Finder – 6m (Radius Range)

SLAMTEC has created a low-cost 360-degree 2D laser scanner (LIDAR) system called RPLiDAR A1M8 360 Degree Laser Range Finder – 6m (Radius Range). Within a 6-meter range, the machine can complete a 360-degree scan. Object/environment modelling, localization, and mapping can all be done with the generated 2D point cloud data.

The scanning frequency of the RPLIDAR A1 was 5.5 Hz when sampling 360 points every round. Additionally, it has a maximum configuration of 10 Hz. In essence, the RPLIDAR A1 is a laser triangulation measurement system. Without sunshine, it can function flawlessly in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.

Note: If radius is taken into account, this RPLiDAR’s range is 6 metres; if diameter is taken into account, it is 12 metres. Thus, the RPLiDAR A1M8 360 Degree Laser Range Finder – 12M is another name for it.
