Description

This GPS Module is required if you are using a drone to navigate a distance while you are on the go. GPS drones have a GPS module installed, which enables them to track their position in relation to a satellite network that is in orbit. The drone may accomplish tasks like autonomous flight, waypoint navigation, position hold, and home return by connecting to signals from these satellites.

Neo 7M GPS module with digital compass HMC5883L included. The 56-channel, high-sensitivity, low-power NEO 7 series GPS module provides accurate position updates at a rate of 10Hz. This GPS module is perfect for using on your aircraft or quadcopter because it also comes with a moulded plastic shell that protects it from the weather.

Compared to the previous Neo 6 series modules, the Neo 7M GPS module produces a better GPS signal thanks to its active circuitry ceramic patch antenna. In addition, this Neo 7 module has an I²C EEPROM to save the configuration settings and a rechargeable backup battery to enable HOT starts. This GPS module is preconfigured to operate at 38400 Baud and with APM/Pixhawk systems right out of the box. There are two cords included with this GPS module: a 4-pin connector for the i2c compass and a 6-pin connector for the GPS module.

Note:
Unlike APM 2.6, APM 2.5 and APM 2.0 feature an internal compass that needs to be turned off by cutting a trace before you can attach the 3DR GPS + Compass module (this is demonstrated in the video).
Connecting APM2.0/APM2.5 is the same as connecting APM2.6, with the exception of turning off the internal compass.
