Waveshare HRB8825 Stepper Motor HAT For Raspberry Pi

The HRB8825 Stepper Motor HAT for Raspberry Pi is designed to drive two stepper motors with up to 1/32 micro-stepping. It features the HR8825 dual H-bridge motor driver chip, which supports 32 subdivisions and includes protective circuits for short-circuit, overheating, under-voltage, and cross-conduction scenarios. These protection mechanisms can detect faults and quickly shut off the H-bridge, safeguarding both the motor and the driver chip.

The HAT accepts an input voltage (VM) ranging from 8.2V to 45V, with an integrated voltage regulator chip that supports inputs from 8.2V to 28V. The nSLEEP pin must be kept high to prevent the chip from entering sleep mode, which would disable the device’s H-bridge, stop the charge pump circuit, disable the V3P3 output, halt all internal clocks, and ignore all logic inputs.
