With the help of this 3DR Radio Telemetry 433MHz 500mW Set, you may connect a flight controller to a computer, laptop, tablet, or other USB-capable device that has UART or USB connectivity (OTG).

The new V2 radios do not require an additional Air/Ground module because both transceivers support both modes and can be connected by USB or UART. In addition to displaying real-time data, the radio set allows you to view system voltage, heading, waypoint navigation, artificial horizon, and much more.

You can also fly your aircraft with a joystick via your computer and adjust settings in real time by using open source MAVlink based ground station software! Use it for your do-it-yourself projects that require a wireless Serial interface instead. This kit provides better performance, a greater range, and an amazing cheap price. The system makes use of HopeRF’s HM-TRP modules, which are powered by proprietary, open-source firmware, to enable a full-duplex connectivity over the 433MHz frequency.

When the term “APM” is used, it refers to the ArduPilot project, a group of free and open-source autopilots created by 3DR and the open-source community that are built on the Arduino platform. It’s based on an open source creative commons license and includes a selection of ArduPilot Mega (APM) electronics and several free software versions for various vehicles.
