Description

This CJMCU-TEMT6000 A unique ambient light detector (TMET6000) with a spectrum response that closely resembles that of the human eye is used by an ambient light sensor module. It assists you in returning the analogue voltage signal to the Arduino controller and detecting the light density. On the Arduino project, you may configure a voltage level threshold to trigger another unit.

The CJMCU-TEMT6000 ambient light sensor is a surface-mountable, small transparent 1206 package containing a silicon NPN epitaxial planar phototransistor. Its peak sensitivity for visible light is at 570 nm, which is similar to that of the human eye. Although this device has a high sensitivity to ambient light, it is not as responsive to the infrared (IR) spectrum as it is to the visible spectrum. The IR spectrum can produce images similar to those seen by the human eye.

APPLICATIONS:

Ambient light sensor to regulate LCD display backlight dimming, mobile device keypad backlighting, and industrial on/off illumination.

  • Automobile sensors
  • Cell phones
  • Portable computers
  • The cameras on PDAs
  • Dashboards
Sample Code:

void setup()
{
Serial.begin(9600); // open serial port, set the baud rate to 9600 bps
}
void loop()
{
int val;
val=analogRead(0); //connect sensor to Analog 0
Serial.println(val); //print the value to serial
delay(100);
}
