Description

A low-power wifi extension that works with the Arduino Uno and Mega2560 is called UART WIFI Shield.

Based on the esp8266 chip from Espressif Systems, the ESP8266-Based Serial WiFi Shield for Arduino is pin-compatible with the Arduino UNO/Mega2560 DevBorad.

Features:

  • 1200/2400/4800/9600/19200/38400/57600/74800/115200 bps serial port baud rate; industrial-grade chipset ESP8266, which is ESP-12E with a metal shield and powerful anti-interference ability.
  • The Arduino Uno, Mega2560, and other control boards are pin-compatible with the shield. 3.3V (Esp8266) and 5V (Arduino) are handled via a voltage converter chip.
  • This module shield can function as an ESP8266 expansion board in addition to an Arduino Uno expansion board by using dual DIP switches for the serial ports.
  • WiFi devices openly receive serial data, and vice versa. An Arduino programme doesn’t require any setup.
  • To set up serial port and WiFi parameters, a web server is constructed.
  • You can use the module shield as a stand-alone ESP8266 development board. for example, NodeMCU open-source firmware can be used, or the official AT commands firmware can be downloaded.
  • The module shield can also be utilised as an independent Arduino Uno expansion board.
