Description

The M6 Propeller Prop Nut Cap CW CCW for 2212 920KV Brushless DC Motor is a pair of distinct nut caps, CW and CCW, that are intended to be installed above the propeller on 2212 and 920KV brushless motors.
Prop nuts with varying orientations typically come in various colors, including silver and black, to make them more user-friendly.
There are small quad motors with labels that read CW and CCW, which can be very confusing for many enthusiasts, even professional quadcopter builders.

The only real difference between CW (clockwise) and CCW (counterclockwise) motors is the direction of the prop shaft threads, which are different. In other words, a CCW motor’s prop nut is fastened by rotating in a clockwise direction. Additionally, in order to secure the prop bolts on CW motors, they must be turned counterclockwise.

The benefits of distinct CW and CCW threads

Why then are there two distinct shaft threads why is everything so confusing?
Because there are two motors spinning clockwise and two motors spinning counterclockwise on a quadcopter, this is known as “self-locking.” By using threads that are in the opposite direction as the motor spin, the prop nuts self-lock, preventing them from coming free.
Nevertheless, finding extra prop nuts for both threads becomes challenging. Additionally, it becomes unclear which way to turn when changing propellers in order to release the prop nuts.
In essence, prop nuts are M6 nylon nuts. Rather than CW and CCW, they are called right- and left-handed thread in hardware stores.

Determine the CCW and CW Threads

In other words, if the prop nut can be tightened in a clockwise direction, your motor is CCW, and you need to purchase a right-handed thread nut (standard thread).
Choose left-hand thread nuts (reverse thread) for CW motors.

Note: There is no motor included in the package.
