Description

Panasonic’s PIR (Passive Infrared or Pyroelectric) Motion Sensor is an industrial-grade, extremely dependable, accurate, and exact sensor. The PIR sensor picks up infrared radiation from human movement in the low infrared band (10µm wavelength). As little as 3°C can separate an object’s temperature from the environment, according to the sensors. A window comparator measures changes in the amount of detected emission; if the change beyond the upper or lower threshold, the sensor’s output level rises and can be used to activate external circuitry.

Applications where persons detection is necessary include automatic door openers, automated lighting, burglar alarms, access control, and many more.

PIR Motion Sensor Applications include:

  • Controls for lighting.
  • HVAC systems and thermostats.
  • Internet of Things and Smart Homes.
  • IP cameras and monitoring programmes.
  • In addition to digital signage.
