Description

The Peltier Thermoelectric Effect is applied simply with the TEC1-12704 40x40mm Thermoelectric Cooler 4A Peltier Module. With 127 semiconductor couples occupying 40 mm by 40 mm, the module efficiently cools and warms to 70°C.

A temperature differential is produced on each side by thermoelectric coolers, commonly referred to as TECs or Peltier Modules. When one side heats up, the other side cools down. Consequently, depending on which side you use, they may be used to either warm something up or cool something down. A temperature differential can also be used to your advantage to produce electricity.

As long as you take the heat off of the hot side, this Peltier performs exceptionally well. The device will swiftly heat up on the hot side and cool down on the cold side after being turned on. The Peltier will rapidly enter stasis and cease to function if the heat is not removed from the hot side (using a heat sink or another tool). To remove heat from the hot side, we advise utilising an old computer CPU heatsink or another metal block. By utilising a CPU heatsink and computer power supply, we were able to create an extremely uncomfortable cold side that was unable to touch with our fingers.

An electronic component based on semiconductors that performs the role of a tiny heat pump is called a thermoelectric cooling (TEC) module. Heat will be transported from one side of the module to the other by applying the DC power supply to a TEC. It produces hot and cold sides. They are extensively utilised in industrial settings, such as in CCDs, portable refrigerators, medical equipment, and computer CPUs.

Also referred to as Peltier modules, thermoelectric cooling modules, and thermoelectric modules.

Operating Advice:

  • When using the module, don’t go beyond Imax or Vmax.
  • When using moisture protection measures (sealing), please follow through.
  • Expected life span: 200,000 hours
  • Based on extensive testing, the failure rate is 0.2%.

Note:
Heat side requires heat sink all the time. “ Do not run this device with a power supply more than a few seconds without a heatsink mounted to the device! ”

Features:

  • Compact design.
  • By simply flipping the supply’s polarity, it is simple to move from the hot to the cold side and vice versa.
  • Checked cooling cells for quality.
  • Noiseless, vibration-free, and solid-state.
  • Easy to set up and use.
  • With a heat sink, ideally.
