Description

In contrast to an electromechanical relay, the DC To DC SSR-25DD Solid State Relay Module (SSR) is an electronic switch with no moving parts. There are three different forms of SSR: hybrid, transformer-coupled, and photo-coupled. A low-voltage signal that is separated optically from the load drives a photo-coupled SSR.

In a photo-coupled SSR, an LED is usually activated by the control signal, which in turn activates a photo-sensitive diode. To switch the load, the diode activates a MOSFET transistor, silicon-controlled rectifier, or back-to-back thyristor.
