Description

This resistor is force-sensitive and has a 1.75 x 1.5 inch square sensing surface. Depending on the force applied to the sensing area, this FSR will change its resistance. The resistance decreases as the force increases. The FSR’s resistance will be more than 1MΩ when no force is applied to it.

Anywhere between 100g and 10kg is the range in which this Force Sensor Resistor Square 38.1mm can sense applied force. The sensor is bread-friendly since it has two 0.1-inch-pitch pins that extend from its bottom. The other side of the sensing region has a rubber backing that may be peeled and stuck to attach the FSR.

To find the force applied, just connect a resistor to create a voltage divider and measure the voltage at the junction. These sensors work well for detecting force and are easy to set up, although their accuracy isn’t very high. You might not want to use it as a scale, but you can use them to detect if it’s being squeezed.
