Description

This strain gauge, also known as a straight bar load cell, has the ability to convert up to 5 kg of force or pressure into an electrical signal. Every load cell has the capacity to measure the electrical resistance, which varies in direct proportion to the strain (such as force or pressure) applied to the bar.

By measuring the strain or force applied to a surface, you can use this gauge to determine the exact weight of an object, whether its weight varies over time, or if you just need to detect its presence. Made of an aluminium alloy, this straight bar load cell can read up to one kilogramme of weight.

The HX711 A/D Pressure Sensor can be linked to it via its four lead wires. With a driving voltage of 5–10 V, it is simple to use and produces an output voltage that varies with force.

The sensor is also very easy to install; just screw one end through the hole and leave the other end floating. The label indicates which way gravity is applied, so pay close attention not to push the white plastic cover part of the sensor directly to prevent damage.
