HC-SR04-Ultrasonic Range Finder

This widely used HC-SR04-Ultrasonic Range Finder is used in numerous applications where object detection and distance measurement are necessary.

The ultrasonic transmitter and receiver are formed by the module’s two eyes-like projections at the front. Like bats or dolphins, the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor employs sonar to measure an object’s distance.

This ultrasonic sensor module comes in a single pack that functions as a transmitter, receiver, and control circuit! It is incredibly small and convenient to use. Since the Trigger and Echo pins are this module’s I/O pins, they can be linked to the microcontroller’s or Arduino’s I/O pins. The Echo pin goes high for a predetermined period of time, which is equivalent to the time it takes for the wave to return to the sensor, when the receiver detects the return wave.

The HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Ranging Module has a non-contact distance detecting range of 2 to 400 cm with a maximum ranging accuracy of 3 mm.
