Description

The three-in-one MPU6050 three-axis accelerometer and three-axis gyroscope sensor, HMC5883L triple-axis magnetometer, and BMP180 barometric pressure sensor comprise the HW-290/GY-87 10DOF MPU6050+HMC5883L+BMP180 3-axis Gyro + 3-axis Acceleration + 3-axis Magnetic Field + Air Pressure Sensor.

The device has an integrated linear LDO voltage regulator with ultra-low noise and onboard filters to minimise noise generated by the motor and other high-current devices. All of its sensors are connected to the I2C bus, and the logic level converter for I2C is built in. You can simply choose between two I2C addresses for the MPU6050 by soldering a jumper, as well as the power LED.

There are different types of magnetometer are available; the basic differences between MPU6000, MPU6050 and MPU6500 is:

Difference Between Mpu 6050 Vs 6000 Vs 6500

MPU6050 :

The MPU6050 devices have an integrated Digital Motion Processor (DMP) that can perform intricate 9-axis MotionFusion algorithms in addition to a 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope combined on the same silicon.

Through the use of an extra master I2C link, the components’ embedded 9-axis MotionFusion algorithms enable the devices to collect all available sensor data without the need for system CPU intervention. This includes access to external magnetometers and other sensors. Are the devices available with the same pinout and 4x4x0.9 mm QFN footprint as the MPU-3000 that is in use today? the line of integrated 3-axis gyroscopes, which offers an easy upgrade path and fits neatly on boards with limited space.

Together with offloading sensor administration from the operating system and offering an organised set of APIs for application development, the InvenSense Motion Apps Platform that is included with the MPU-6050 abstracts motion-based complications. The parts have a user-programmable gyro full-scale range of ±250, ±500, ±1000, and ±2000°/sec (DPS) and a user-programmable accelerometer full-scale range of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g for accurate monitoring of both fast and slow motions.

HMC5883:
The HMC5883 is a surface mount multi-chip module with a digital interface that is intended for low field magnetic sensing in applications like inexpensive magnetometry and compassing. Our cutting-edge, high-resolution HMC118X series magneto-resistive sensors are included in the HMC5883 along with an ASIC designed by Honeywell that has features like offset cancellation, automatic degaussing strap drivers, amplification, and a 12-bit ADC that allows for 1° to 2° precision in compass direction. Mobile phones, netbooks, consumer electronics, auto navigation systems, and personal navigation devices are among the devices that can use the HMC5883.

The best inexpensive sensor option for detecting temperature and barometric pressure is the BMP180 precision sensor. It can also be used as an altimeter because pressure varies with height! It’s simple to use the sensor.

The BMP085, which is replaced by the BMP180, is the next generation of sensors. The good news is that the firmware and software are exactly the same as those of the BMP085; you can replace it with any example code or libraries and our BMP085 tutorial. Since the BMP180 lacks the XCLR pin physically, you will need to query the I2C bus to find out when the data is ready.
This board is 5V compatible; to utilise this sensor securely with 5V electronics, it comes with a 3.3V regulator and an I2C level shifter circuit.

APPLICATIONS:

  • Robotics, FPV, and RC systems
  • GPS-based navigation devices
  • Impact identification and recording
  • Input devices for virtual reality and gaming
  • Motion-sensitive features
  • shrewd power conservation for portable electronics
  • Monitoring and compensating for vibrations
  • Sixth-dimension orientation and free-fall detection

Note: The product may be printed with the name GY-87 or HW-290; however, HW-290 is most likely what you will receive. They both function in the same way. Purchase appropriately.

Characteristics:

  • Air Pressure Module with 3-axis Gyro, Acceleration, and Magnetic Filter
  • Integrated linear LDO voltage regulator with extremely low noise
  • Onboard filters that are integrated and lower noise levels from motors and other high-current electronics
  • Soldered jumpers make it simple to choose two I2C addresses for the MPU-6050.
  • Energise LED
  • Logic level converter for I2C built-in
  • Developed at the 5V logic level
