The Sabertooth Dual 25A Motor Driver stands out as one of the most versatile, efficient, and user-friendly dual motor drivers available today, catering to high-powered robots weighing up to 100lbs in combat or 300lbs for general-purpose robotics.

Right out of the box, the Sabertooth empowers two DC brushed motors with up to 25A each, with peak currents reaching 50A per channel for short durations. Its built-in overcurrent and thermal protection ensure worry-free operation, guarding against accidental stalls or connecting oversized motors.

Offering control via analog voltage, radio control, serial, and packetized serial inputs, the Sabertooth facilitates the creation of diverse robotic projects with increasing complexity over time. With independent and speed+direction operating modes, it’s particularly well-suited for differential drive (tank style) robots and more.

Setting the operating mode is a breeze thanks to the onboard DIP switches, eliminating the risk of losing jumpers. Featuring screw terminal connectors, the Sabertooth simplifies assembly without requiring soldering.

As the first synchronous regenerative motor driver in its class, the Sabertooth recharges batteries whenever the robot slows down or reverses, maximizing efficiency and extending runtime. It also enables rapid stops and reversals, giving your robot agility and responsiveness.

Additionally, the Sabertooth incorporates a built-in 5V 1A Switch-mode BEC, providing power to a microcontroller or R/C receiver, as well as 3-4 standard analog servos. Its lithium cutoff mode ensures safe operation with lithium ion and lithium polymer battery packs, offering compatibility with high-energy density batteries.

Operating at ultrasonic speeds (32kHz), the Sabertooth ensures silent operation, enhancing user experience. With 1.3 milliohm MOSFETs in its bridge, it boasts impressive capabilities that exceed conventional rating schemes, making it equivalent to a dual 190A motor driver by competitor standards.

For optimal performance and safety, it’s strongly recommended to avoid using cheap AC adapters with these motor drivers and instead opt for a battery or include a battery in parallel with a DC supply.
